El Poble Sec (Catalan for "dry village") is a neighbourhood in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona. It's local and charming, and home to what we consider to be some of Barcelona's best restaurants, bars, and arts institutions. And it's only a 15 minute walk from the city center.
Poble Sec is a mostly residential neighborhood that lays alongside Montjuïc. It’s quiet, charming, a little cheeky and full of surprises.

Montjuïc is a marvel and we are right next to it. It’s a perfect days escape from the dense city as it’s home to the botanical gardens, many historical monuments, the olympic grounds and some of our city’s best museums.
Visit the Fundació Joan Miró, the Greek Theater, and experience any number of its seasonal happenings.

¿Qué recuerdos tienes de este barrio?
Crecí aquí al lado. En mi casa teníamos carros y caballos que me encantaban. Con mis amigas nos encantó ir al chiringuito que estaba justo al lado del "moblé" arriba de todo de la calle Nou de la Rambla.
¿Qué es un moblé?
Para chingar hijo. El propietario de este moblé era cura. Y allí me reía mucho, vimos muchos viejos entrando con chicas guapas…
¿Qué haces en tu tiempo libre?
Me encanta tomar un Vermuth, unas olivas y unas almejas. Lo más era "La Garrotada": se comía de puta madre pero de barato nada…
¿Has viajado?
Fui con mi marido a 2 cruceros. Estuve en el barco más grande del mundo para ver el Papa pero no le vimos nunca. Te sacan el dinero y nada. Todo mentira.
¿Qué recuerdos tienes de Montjuic?
Fuimos arriba a robar flores para chuparlas. Había bailes de Gallegos los sábados y domingos arriba en el font trobaba. Allí se mamaba y arrampaba que no veas. Me encantó ir a la piscina municipal. Se pagaba 100 pesetas de entrada y siempre me colaba. No pagaba nunca.
¿Cuál es tu plato favorito?
Me gusta un buen trozo de carne a la plancha con esparraguitos. Oh y me encanta la Paella y también los rustidos.
¿Qué recuerdos tienes del resto de Barcelona?
Mi marido era jefe eléctrico del teatro liceo y ganaba pasta. Nos encantó coger el coche para ir al Frankfurt de Pedralbes. ¡Qué ricos estos Frankfurt! Y salimos a la calle Escudellers para tomar copas en el Tequila.
“Tomar algo”
A beer, some bravas and an entrepà. A couple of glasses of wine, a variat of cheeses and embotits with a little pa amb tomàquet. A take away coffee and churros to enjoy in a park. An assortment of good old fashioned tapas and a vermú on a sunny Sunday morning.
Barcelona knows how to treat the hunger and thirst of its locals and its visitors… if they know where to go.
